Who are Transkerala Holidays, and how long have you been running?

We are a Kochi-based travel company building Kerala journeys since 2008. We are deliberately a local operator rather than a middleman: our drivers, guides, boat crews and Ayurvedic practitioners are people we have worked with for years, and the money you spend here stays in the state.

Which parts of Kerala do you cover?

Most of the state, and almost all of it by road. Our regular circuits take in:

  • The backwaters — Alleppey, Kumarakom and Vembanad
  • The hills — Munnar, Thekkady and Wayanad
  • The coast — Fort Kochi, Varkala and Kovalam
  • The cultural north — Thrissur, Palakkad and Malabar

If the place you have in mind is not on this list, ask us anyway — we often can.

How do I start planning a trip?

Three steps, and you can stop after any of them:

  1. Send us your dates, how many people are travelling, and where you are flying from.
  2. We reply within one working day with two or three options and what each costs.
  3. You pick one, and we write out the full itinerary and price for confirmation.

Use any of our tour packages, local tours or events as a starting point, or write to us from scratch — there is no minimum on how early you start.

Can you build a trip that is not in your listed packages?

Yes — most of what we sell began as a bespoke trip for one family or one group of friends. The published packages are simply the itineraries that keep working well, so they give you a sensible baseline and we adjust from there: longer, shorter, a different coast, an extra ayurvedic week at the end.

Do you travel with children, older travellers or guests with limited mobility?

All three, and we plan for them rather than around them. Tell us the ages, any mobility limits and how far anyone can comfortably walk, and we will:

  • pick step-free houseboat and hotel options where they exist
  • break long drives into shorter legs with proper stops
  • arrange a second vehicle or a smaller group boat when a big coach would be punishing

Kerala is not the easiest state for a wheelchair, and we would rather say so up front than sell you a route we cannot deliver.

Still have a question?

Ask a person, not a form. We are a small team in Kochi and we answer our own enquiries — usually the same working day you write.
